Emerging Technology, Part 1

The article I chose to read, was Light-Field Photography. This article is about how cameras are being built that can be focused after the pictures are taken. Light-field cameras have been around for a while, but do to cost, and the delicateness of the many lenses inside it, we not available to the general public. Now, the cameras start at $399 dollars, and can be used just like regular cameras. Photos can be sent to twitter, facebook, and other socail networks for other people to focus and see what was taken. I was most suprised by a picture shown in the article. I showed a picture New York after rain, and the buildings were in focus. The second photo was the same photo, just the focus instead of on the buildings, were on the raindrops on the windows. Creators believe that in the future all cameras will be light-field cameras.

In 2009, the liquid battery was a new technology, used to store energy from the sun during the day, and save it up for at night. This new breakthrough in technology would make solar power more usable. Now, many people (including my family) have little lamps around their houses that have small solar pannels on the top, and save up the energy during the day to light up sidewalks at night.
